Situs Gunung Padang merupakan situs prasejarah peninggalan kebudayaan Megalitikum di Jawa Barat. Tepatnya berada di perbatasan Dusun Gunungpadang dan Panggulan, Desa Karyamukti, Kecamatan Campaka, Kabupaten Cianjur. Lokasi dapat dicapai 20 kilometer dari persimpangan kota kecamatan Warungkondang, dijalan antara Kota Kabupaten Cianjur dan Sukabumi. Luas kompleks utamanya kurang lebih 900 m², terletak pada ketinggian 885 m dpl, dan areal situs ini sekitar 3 ha, menjadikannya sebagai kompleks punden berundak terbesar di Asia Tenggara.Lokasi situs berbukit-bukit curam dan sulit dijangkau. Kompleksnya memanjang, menutupi permukaan sebuah bukit yang dibatasi oleh jejeran batu andesit besar berbentuk persegi. Situs itu dikelilingi oleh lembah-lembah yang sangat dalam^[1]. Tempat ini sebelumnya memang telah dikeramatkan oleh warga setempat.^[2] Penduduk menganggapnya sebagai tempat Prabu Siliwangi, raja Sunda, berusaha membangun istana dalam semalam.Laporan pertama mengenai keberadaan situs ini dimuat pada Rapporten van de Oudheidkundige Dienst (ROD, “Buletin Dinas Kepurbakalaan”) tahun 1914. Sejarawan Belanda, N. J. Krom juga telah menyinggungnya pada tahun 1949. Setelah sempat “terlupakan”, pada tahun 1979 tiga penduduk setempat, Endi, Soma, dan Abidin, melaporkan kepada Edi, Penilik Kebudayaan Kecamatan Campaka, mengenai keberadaan tumpukan batu-batu persegi besar dengan berbagai ukuran yang tersusun dalam suatu tempat berundak yang mengarah ke Gunung Gede^[1]. Selanjutnya, bersama-sama dengan Kepala Seksi Kebudayaan Departemen Pendidikan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Cianjur, R. Adang Suwanda, ia mengadakan pengecekan. Tindak lanjutnya adalah kajian arkeologi, sejarah, dan geologi yang dilakukan Puslit Arkenas pada tahun 1979 terhadap situs ini.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
